The phone rang one evening over 17 years ago. The gentleman on the phone introduced himself as Scott Mader. He and his family were moving to OR and looking for a home to buy and had obtained our contact information from OLL. He had been told that we would be good folks to talk to since we were relatively new to the area as well and there was a house for sale across the street from us. Yes, not surprisingly Scott asked 20 million questions about the neighborhood, the number of children, pros and cons, etc., etc. We had a relatively long, delightful conversation. The Maders did not move to our neighborhood; others were fortunate enough to become Mader neighbors. However, we did meet not long after that initial call as our lives have been so intertwined over 17 years with OLL, Jesuit and the aftermath. We have shared so much during that time with such a wonderfully loving husband, father, friend, physician and caregiver, scholar, musician and athlete -- an absolute Renaissance man – and Maureen and the family.
