I met Scott at the Portland VA about 5 years ago. He was a scientific mentor to me and tried tirelessly to help me get VA funding for my research. He once told me that he had been influenced by a mentor at one point in his life who had pictures of each person on his office wall;each person who had helped him throughout his journey. Whenever I thanked him for his help on my projects he would say," I want to be on your wall at some point. I want you to think..Scott Mader helped me."
