Always Improving

On one of the drives to Indian Guides, Scott asked me how work was going. I told him about this new person we had managing manufacturing and that he was aggressively moving LEAN principles into the organization. I was reading a book called Lean Thinking to help me get prepared for the changes I would need to embrace. Scott said he really liked that book and found some good concepts in it. I said really? How did you decided to learn about LEAN? He said he was with the VA and they never have enough resources. The only way to get more for his patience was to get better at what they do. Remove all non-value added pieces of their processes. For the next hour we talked about process improvement and how his administrative needs are not that different from the manufacturing improvement needs. Scott was a true inspiration and he had nothing but a pure positive influence on me and our family. Thank you
